La citation est tirée d’une lettre ouverte de Ralph Giordano, un grand écrivain allemand juif, adressée à une organisation islamique qui souhaite bâtir une grande mosquée à Cologne. Autres citations (que je traduis):

Je me demande bien comment quelqu’un pour qui l’acte de fondation d’une culture nomade archaïque qu’est le Coran constitue une écriture sainte peut se situer envers la Constitution… l’un exclut simplement l’autre. (…) La lecture [du Coran] est une source d’horreur et de stupéfaction, avec ses innombrables injonctions répétées à tuer les incroyants, surtout les Juifs.

L’Islam n’a pas sa place sur Terre, dans le monde réel. En tant que religion, c’est une pure supercherie; en tant que civilisation, c’est une utopie et un cul-de-sac. Le Coran, le coeur même de cette religion, contient – et ce n’est pas une simple mention ponctuelle mais bien un leitmotiv - la sanctification de la haine pour le prochain et du sang versé sans distinction en son nom. Cette monstruosité inspire directement, sans autre «interprétation» que la connaissance du contexte, les pires despotes et assassins. 

La seule chose à récupérer dans cette immuable désertification spirituelle, morale, scientifique, artistique et affective, ce sont les gens, les Musulmans de la génération à venir. Pour cela, il faut déclarer la guerre à la religion islamique – la guerre des idées, des valeurs. Il faut rejeter catégoriquement cette perversion ultime (un Créateur qui enseigne la haine et la mort à ses créatures) et obliger les Musulmans à la remettre en question, à la base, dans sa vérité historique et dans ses principes fondamentaux. Et c’est alors, enfin, qu’il en sortira, peut-être, quelque chose de bon.

UPDATE: Une interview (traduite en anglais) avec Arzu Toker, une femme turque membre du Conseil des ex-Musulmans d’Allemagne, à propos de la mosquée de Cologne:

There is not a single verse in the Quran that sets out the requirement of a mosque. Muslims could just as well pray in a park, for example. The building is not necessary. Mosques first came into being when Muslims conquered Christian and Jewish territories where there were already churches or synagogues and they converted them into mosques. What is going on in Cologne is a demonstration of power. The Islamic associations are on the rise. They already have a seat at the negotiating table with the government and now they think they are powerful enough to have a mosque in the middle of town. (…)

The worst part is that this discussion is only taking place among at most some 30,000 people. The rest of the 3.2 million Muslims who live in this country have nothing to do with it. There are thousands of modern Turkish women in Germany who pretend to be Spaniards or Italians and are ashamed to say they are Turkish, because they find the whole discussion embarrassing and do not want to have anything to do with Islam. Many Turkish women try to stay inconspicuous, because the image of the “German Muslim” – thanks in part to [German Interior Minister Wolfgang] Schäuble – is completely and utterly determined by the 30,000 organized Muslims in the Islamic associations. It’s absurd: the radical minority dominates the liberal majority. (…)

Many people are waiting to see if people like me are able to accomplish something. When I’m walking through town, people often say to me: “Good for you. Keep on doing what you’re doing. I would help, except I have children” – as if I didn’t have children. They justify their inaction by their fear. So, when I speak out, I’m speaking out not only for myself, but also on behalf of thousands and thousands of people who are afraid to do so. (…)

Veiled women are an insult to the surrounding environment: above all, they are an insult to men, since they suppose that men are born sex offenders.
